Highland County, Ohio
Highland County is a rural area with a strong agrarian heritage that has endeavored to build a balanced quality of life. This includes two lakes for recreation, four new school buildings, home of Southern State Community College with enrollment of 3,370 for fall quarter of 2009, and is served by Great Oaks Vocational School.
The economy is diversified with a good selection of retailers, small businesses and industry ranging from metal fabrication, metal coating, printing companies, plastics, candle making, automotive component manufacturing to refabrication of jet engines. Highland County's goal is to create additional jobs by providing workforce training, retain a low crime rate, provide social organization for youth and adults, retain the friendly atmosphere and continue being a community in which you want to live and work.
